The Finnish Institute at Athens and the Vice-President of the Society for Hellenism and Philhellenism, Professor Emeritus of the Technical University of Dresden, Costas Papailiou, invite you on Thursday, October 30 at 7:00 p.m. to the presentation of the book: August Myhrberg and Northern European Philhellenism \u2013 Building the Myth of a Hero.<\/em><\/p>\n

The author of the publication is the distinguished historian Petra Pakkanen, Director of the Finnish Institute at Athens.\u00a0The Finnish Philhellene Auguste Maximilian Myhrberg <\/strong>served as commander of the Palamidi fortress until 1831. In 2009, in the presence of the Finnish Minister of Culture Stefan Wallin, the unveiling of the relief bust of the Philhellene Myhrberg took place near the Venetian Land Gate in Nafplio.<\/p>\n

The edition will be included in the \u201cPhilhellenic Library\u201d publishing series of Parisianou Publications.<\/p>\n

A reception will follow at the Institute\u2019s garden.<\/p>\n
