Description
Collectible women’s scarf 70 x 70 cm with the theme of Bouboulina
It is a luxury silk scarf (100% silk), made in Greece, and specially designed for the Philhellenism Museum, in Soufli, Evros, Greece.
The theme is based on a copper-plated liqueur bottle label from France, called Crême de Bobelina [Lyon, 1820s]. Under Bouboulina’s ship the inscription reads: “Bobelina faisant jurer à ses enfants de venger la mort de leur Père [Bouboulina asks her children to swear that they will revenge their father’s death]. Right and left of the title, the naval battle of Tenedos and the siege of Nafplio respectively.
This high aesthetic scarf reminds in the best way the dimensions that the movement of Philhellenism took internationally and its contribution during the Greek Revolution.
The scarf, like all the items of the Art Shop, is available from SHP and the Philhellenism Museum.
